Abnormal Loads
If a lorry is carrying a load that exceeds 40 tonnes, it is classed as "abnormal". Before moving an abnormal load the law requires the haulier to give a minimum of two clear days notice (via various forms) to the Police, the Highway Authority and bridge authorities.
