Parking Bay Suspensions
Suspensions allow you to reserve specific parking bays within a controlled parking zone for removals or works. They are available only to residents within a controlled parking zone, builders or contractors, removal workers and civil works/utility companies.
Examples of when parking suspensions may be necessary:
• Crane Access to sites
• Police security
• Removals
• Tree surgery
• Special events
• Road works
• Storing plant and materials
• Filming
• Temporary structures
• Cleaning work
• Mobile workshops
• Building works
• Weddings & funerals
The types of parking places that can be suspended are:
• resident parking bays
• pay-and-display bays
• certain motorcycle bays
• disabled persons' bays, diplomatic and doctors' bays, but only if it's absolutely necessary.
For a large scale suspension, you must require 30 or more resident parking spaces to be suspended. Alternative resident parking must be provided in the case of a large scale suspension with one alternative resident parking space being made available for resident permit holders for every five suspended spaces. |
